Rainbows

In spite of the dreary weather and drearier mood (mine), Monterosso sent me a smile in the form of a spectacular rainbow the other day.
Recovering from a back injury can be a little dejecting, and the brace is starting to really get on my nerves.  The temporary tunnel closure really got me a little sad, and the slow start to the season didn't help at all - nor did the fact that I can't really "work" with my cumbersome brace on, which prevents me from lifting anything heavy, bending down, standing for more then a few hours, and basically everything else that comes with running a restaurant.

My spirits were a little giĆ¹, as they say, and I was just feeling generally down until I left the house and gasped at the sky.

  2. Christine, I understand how you feel, after almost 8 months since my son Blake's spinal surgery.
But I am sure as you know that rest and being kind to yourself is what matters.
the photo's are lovely and I know they would have given you a lift.
I hope that you recover well and remember that it will take a good year for the total healing so be king to yourself. I am hopping to be over in June 2014 if things go well, so will look forward to seeing you back at the Cantina once again.
take care of yourself and enjoy the slow and amazing world around you for this season. you will be fine in the end.
    take care Denise
